Better value than new
A refurbished switch costs less than the same model straight out of the box. What you save on ports can go towards faster uplinks, an extra stack member or a redundant power supply.
A strong network doesn’t have to be brand new. Our refurbished switches are inspected, tested and come with a lifetime warranty. That way you build a reliable network for less, with less e-waste.
Request a quoteRefurbished network switches are used business switches that we prepare for a new round of service. Think access, PoE and core switches from brands such as Cisco, Juniper and Arista that are still perfectly usable after their first deployment.
That lets you expand your network or replace ports without paying the new price, while useful hardware stays in circulation.

A refurbished switch costs less than the same model straight out of the box. What you save on ports can go towards faster uplinks, an extra stack member or a redundant power supply.
Network equipment is often replaced during an upgrade, even when it still works well. It adds up: in 2022 the world generated 62 million tonnes of e-waste, and only 22.3% of it was documented as collected and recycled (Global E-waste Monitor 2024). Reusing a switch keeps it off that pile.
A stack runs most smoothly with identical models on the same firmware. If a switch fails or you need more ports, you can often still find exactly the same type refurbished, even when the manufacturer no longer sells it.
From an extra switch for the office to a complete data centre environment: we supply refurbished network equipment for every layer of your network. For every part of your network:
Torn between a new and a refurbished switch? Here are the differences side by side.
| Refurbished switch | New switch | |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase price | Sharper price per port | Manufacturer list price |
| Older models | Including end of life models, handy for topping up a stack | Current product line only |
| Latest technology | Proven models that have run in business networks for years | The latest standards, such as higher port speeds and recent PoE classes |
| Warranty and support | Lifetime warranty through Circular IT group, manufacturer support depends on model and licences | Warranty and support contract directly with the manufacturer |
| Environmental impact | No new production needed, the switch goes round again in a rack | Requires new raw materials, production and transport |

Yes. Switches for business networks are designed for continuous operation. We reset and test every switch before it leaves us. And should anything go wrong, you can rely on the lifetime warranty.
A used switch is usually sold as it is, without checks and sometimes still with the previous owner’s settings. A refurbished switch has been reset and tested and comes with a grade and a warranty.
A lifetime warranty. Exactly what it covers for your switch is set out in the quote you receive from us.
A switch keeps working after the manufacturer stops selling it. Cisco, for example, provides five more years of hardware support after the end of sale date. After that, no further updates are released. We are happy to advise which models meet your security and support requirements.
Yes. Test a switch in your own network first with a Proof of Concept, or choose to rent. If you are happy, you can often take over the switch after the rental period.
