What is EcoVadis and how does the assessment work?
EcoVadis is an independent platform that assesses how well a company manages sustainability, across four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Buyers use this sustainability rating to compare suppliers. More than 150,000 companies in 180 countries have now been assessed (EcoVadis).
A company completes a questionnaire and supports every answer with documents. EcoVadis analysts review that evidence and also look at external sources, such as the news. The result is a scorecard from 0 to 100 showing strengths and areas for improvement.

Which EcoVadis medals are there?
EcoVadis awards four medals. Which one you receive depends on your position compared with all companies assessed in the past 12 months, worldwide and across all sectors. You also need a minimum of 30 points on every theme (EcoVadis).

- Stronger in tenders: More and more public and private buyers ask for EcoVadis, as our webinar with VodafoneZiggo and Cegeka also showed. With us on your supplier list, you are in a stronger position.

Platinum requires strong performance on every theme. This is how you see them in our work.
- Environment: Circular IT is at our core. In 2025, we refurbished 406,501 computing devices, avoiding 58,155 tonnes of CO₂e (Circular IT group internal data for 2025). Anything that can no longer be reused goes to responsible recycling through our ITAD services.
- Labour and human rights: Healthy and safe workplaces for our specialists in the service centres, safeguarded by our ISO 45001 certification.
- Ethics: As an IT partner, we handle sensitive data. That is why we erase storage media using certified Blancco software, and why we are ISO 27001 certified.
- Sustainable procurement: Here, EcoVadis looks at how a company takes sustainability into account when choosing suppliers. Because we are a link in your supply chain, you can also include our rating in your own procurement policy.

Is EcoVadis a certification?
It is often called EcoVadis certification, but strictly speaking it is a rating. A certificate shows that you meet a fixed standard, while an EcoVadis rating shows how you score compared with other companies.

How long is an EcoVadis medal valid?
A medal is valid for 12 months, just like the scorecard.
