Circular Workplace: the new standard in sustainable workplace design

In conversation with Jan-Dirk Krispijn & Leendert van Houwelingen

With Circular Workplace, Circular IT group is introducing a powerful, future-oriented Device as a Service proposition as of 1 July. It offers organisations a complete Device as a Service solution for managing new IT hardware – such as laptops, desktops and mobile devices – throughout its entire lifecycle. Not only device deployment is optimised, but also circularity, carbon reduction and job satisfaction are key.

From possession to use

Where previously a device was replaced after depreciation, Circular Workplace looks at its full usage potential. New hardware is selected modularly and deployed smartly so that it remains suitable for multiple use cycles – inside or outside the organisation. It starts with good advice, smart use and maintenance so that your hardware remains fit-for-purpose for as long as possible.

We continue to do what we did, but put Circular Workplace on top as a strategic answer to today's demand as well as tomorrow's.

Four packages, one growth path

Circular Workplace is made up of four service layers:
Start, Active, Advanced and Tailored. Organisations can get in where they want and easily scale up.

For some, mere insight via the customer portal is a relief. Others opt for full chain management, where we take care of the entire lifecycle management of devices – from purchase, delivery, installation to disposal. With more than 30 years of practical experience, all processes are standardised and scalable. Where necessary, customisation is added.

Five distinctions

What makes Circular Workplace unique? Jan-Dirk and Leendert mention five strengths:

  • Customer portal as backbone (API-linked with customer tooling): real-time insight, reports, dashboards and CMDB data in one platform.
  • End-to-end accountability under one roof: from sourcing to disposal, including reuse and data destruction.
  • Full lifecycle services: deliveries hardware & peripherals/accessories, installation, upgrades, mutations, support and return flows.
  • Standardised and automated processes: based on years of practical experience.
  • Steering on ESG & scope 3: concrete insight into environmental impact and CO₂ reduction of your IT.

Who is it for?

Circular Workplace is ideal for organisations from 250 IT workstations containing devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones. They often lack the time or structure to logistically manage workplaces in a circular way. Circular Workplace then offers rhythm, overview and economies of scale. Larger organisations can additionally turn to customisation.

Yet Jan-Dirk and Leendert realise that Circular Workplace is ahead of the market for some companies.

“We see now that sustainability is often only the fifth argument in procurement. But in five years it will be in the top three – or at the top. Circular Workplace is there for those organisations that are already anticipating that. It was built for those who want to integrate circularity into processes, not just PowerPoints.”

Leendert van Houwelingen
We don't want IT managers to think: this is only about about redeployment of old/end-of-life hardware. Instead, it is about smart deployment of the new hardware that we deliver with future vision. As in the automotive sector, sustainability will soon not be optional, but mandatory. With Circular Workplace, you are prepared for that.

Measurable results

Circular Workplace makes performance tangible. Especially at the highest service level, results are structurally monitored and discussed. We do not use dashboards to tick off, but as handlebars to navigate. Think about:

  • Delivery and lead time
  • End-user satisfaction
  • Insight into your device pool (active and in stock)
  • Data security & compliance
  • Time and cost savings
  • Scope 3 impact and CO₂ savings
  • Innovation level of cooperation

Insight into the entire lifecycle of your devices. With the aim of optimally deploying the devices and thus fully exploiting the investment combined with customer satisfaction and security compliance.

Ready for the future

Circular Workplace helps organisations embed sustainability in their IT strategy – without compromising on quality, comfort or cost control.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I include refurbished devices in my DaaS setup?

Yes. Through Circular Workplace, we offer premium refurbished laptops, desktops, and mobile devices, backed by warranty and performance guarantees.

  • Is your DaaS solution available internationally?

Yes. Circular IT group operates across Europe and delivers DaaS solutions globally, with localised logistics and multilingual support.

  • How does your pricing work?

We offer transparent monthly pricing, starting from €0.49 per device, based on your selected service package and device type.

  • How is this different from a traditional DaaS offering?

Unlike standard device-as-a-service solutions that focus on leasing, our scalable packages manage devices across multiple user cycles, both within your organisation and beyond, to improve ROI. We prioritise the reuse of premium hardware rather than simply replacing devices on a fixed schedule.

Additionally, all our services are managed in-house. We do not outsource any part of the device lifecycle. When clients work with us, they choose a single provider for seamless integration and the simplicity we bring to lifecycle management.

  • Do you support all hardware brands?

Absolutely. We work across all major brands, including HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Dell, Apple and more. We help you build the right tech stack for your business, and can build around your preferred brand or advise you on the best solution for your business goals.

  • How do you ensure devices are a good fit for each user?

We can use data and analytics to create user personas, so each employee gets the right device for their role, increasing productivity, reducing surplus, and extending device lifespans.

  • What happens at the end of a device’s lifecycle?

We securely collect and wipe all devices, preparing them for reuse within your organisation or for a second life through resale, donation, or recycling. It’s all part of our circular approach. Your business can choose to recover residual value or donate equipment to support ESG objectives.

For clients with strict data policies, our ITAD service also offers certified on-site data wiping and destruction, ensuring full compliance with security requirements.

  • What kind of companies benefit from your DaaS model?

Our device as a service solution is ideal for organisations with 100 to 750+ users. We help businesses optimise IT operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency at scale. Large national companies and multinational organisations also benefit from enhanced sustainability and lifecycle visibility.

We support remote, hybrid, and on-site teams with scalable logistics and end-to-end service.
